Meditation
Chakra Journal
Steps:
1. Meditation paired with journaling. After each chakra you will journal what you
noted.
Root Chakra: Sit or lie comfortably, closing your eyes. Imagine your body
connecting and being nourished and held by the earth. Bring your attention to
the space in your body that is near your tailbone. Take a couple of deep, full
breaths.
-The root chakra is often associated with basic needs such as sleep, eating,
physical health, etc.
-Reflect on how the past few days have been for you with meeting basic needs.
Have you been able to get the sleep you need? Have you been drinking enough
water? Have you been able to eat the foods you want to eat (i.e. desires to eat
healthy or not skip meals, be balanced)…are there any excesses (sleeping too
much, overeating, drinking alcohol or using other ways of self-medicating, etc.) or
deficiencies (restricting yourself too much, not finding the time or focus to meet
needs, etc.). Take a moment to journal about anything that stands out as feeling
too little or too much, what does your body desire?
Sacral Chakra: Bring your attention to the space in your body that is your lower
tummy. Place a hand on this part of your body to help you connect if that feels
helpful. Take a couple of deep, full breaths.
-The sacral chakra is often associated with emotional needs. Have you been
able to give space and attention to your feelings this week? Has there been any
excessive flooding of emotions that are difficult to manage with life
responsibilities, or are you feeling cut off from feeling in the past couple days? In
general, what have you noticed about your feelings? Take time to journal.
Solar Plexus: Bring your attention to the space in your body that is just below
where your ribs meet (your sternum) Place a hand on this part of your body to
help you connect if that feels helpful. Take a couple of deep, full breaths.
-The solar plexus chakra is often associated with feeling empowered/free vs.
trapped/not having a sense of being able to control your destiny or feel confident
you can accomplish things. What is the balance in your life with feeling powerful
and like you can be the author in your life? Are you feeling held back or like
there is too much outside of your control to feel free in life?
Heart Chakra: Bring your attention to the space in your body that is the center of
your chest. Place a hand on this part of your body to help you connect if that
feels helpful. Take a couple of deep, full breaths.
-The heart chakra is associated with how we flow with love for others and for our
Self. Have you felt connected to what love feels like for your self or others this
week? Has loving been hard from feeling too much compassion that it is painful
or is there any sense of armoring or feeling like love isn’t flowing enough in your
life? Journal any reflections.
Throat Chakra: Bring your attention to the space in your body that is your throat.
Place a hand on this part of your body to help you connect if that feels helpful.
Take a couple of deep, full breaths.
-The throat chakra is connected with communication. Are you communicating
with others clearly, are you communicating excessively, needing to communicate
more? What would ideal communication feel like right now? Journal any
reflections.
Third Eye Chakra: Bring your attention to your forehead third eye location.
Place your hand here if it helps. The third eye is our intuition. What message
does your intuition have for you? Have you been able to pay attention to it lately,
can you notice it? Does it ever feel overwhelming? Journal any reflections.
Crown Chakra: Place your hand on top of your head. Honor all of the lessons,
wisdom, knowledge, and experiences that have taught you things during your
lifetime, all of the challenges you have overcome. Do you own your knowledge?
Do you remember to access it? Is there ever an unbalance due to thinking you
know how something will be, having an expectation, and then it throwing you off
because it was completely different? Journal any reflections.
Lastly take a moment to appreciate your spirit and all of the needs and energies
it has to balance….it’s really hard work! <3
