Podcast Resources:

I have listened to, felt enriched, and enjoyed these podcasts:

Podcasts

  • We can all benefit from learning about emotional intelligence with DB Bedford: https://spotify.link/erJVwR2YVCb

  • Joy Lab: I like the balance of science and easy to follow mindfulness shifts/practices in this podcast.  This one is about befriending uncomfortable emotions and I really enjoy the length at 20 minutes: https://spotify.link/uurwKibhUCb.

  •  Psych2Go On the Go : I dont always agree with the information, but there are some episodes I find so concise and helpful.  For example, I really liked this episode on 6 types of Empaths in only 4 minutes: https://spotify.link/rZpBQFMfUCb
  • Poetry Unbound.  I listen to this one while I chop veggies and cook dinner sometimes.  It often brings me to tears or offers some sage wisdom.  This is a poetry based podcast that offers insights and reflections on poems. I love this one about being an artist: https://open.spotify.com/episode/55pZkxvDsICitSqPkilHkJ?si=xja2jPDNSc2tQodYD63k6
  • The Huberman Lab: Stanford professor presenting on various topics in neurobiology. He is thorough and I have to really intentionally focus to sustain my attention, but I think it is really helpful for understanding human behavior and how it intersects with brain chemistry. Here is a link of a shorter podcast (these podcasts are typically around 2 hours long. This one is 22 minutes and very insightful). https://spotify.link/BHkQoAXgUCb
  • How to Exercise Your Vagus Nerve to Lower Stress and Inflammation with Dr. Navaz Habib on The Root Cause Medicine Podcast.  This podcast episode is a deep dive on the Vagus Nerve that goes for 35 minutes and has a medical perspective. https://spotify.link/hQRgQgnJUCb.  If you can't get through the podcast, the recommendations included gargling, deep breathing, sleep hygiene, cyrotherapy (cold exposure such as cold showers or swimming in cold water, being in cold air, etc.), and humming or singing.
